This series has continually evolved from flat paper to torn paper and finally cartonnage in the shape of rocks.  In the last cartonnage piece, “Chauvet Cave Lions” I added sand to the encaustic overlay and the surface now feels very rock like.  I may experiment with crushed limestone to see what kind of surface that will make.
